Jesus shouted his last words, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). The other gospel writers tell us he cried out with a loud voice (Matt. 27:50; Mark 15:37; Luke 23:46). And then, as if to emphasize the finality of it all, Jesus declared, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” (Luke 23:46). Wow!
