Well, they sure weren’t using TP back then! Instead, they had to get creative with whatever was around - rags, wood shavings, grass, leaves, hay, moss and even snow. And if that wasn’t enough for them to clean up with? They’d use sand or stone or even seashells! Talk about roughing it.
